YOUR BATTLES ARE LOST OR WON IN THE MIND

Rev Isaac Osei-Bonsu, popularly referred to as Rev OB, is a Ghanaian preacher and founder of the Moments of Glory Prayer Army. Rev OB is seen as a revivalist whose ministry has brought out the awakening of the Body of Christ to prayer in Ghana and around the globe. His passion as a young preacher was to pray for revival in the Body of Christ, not knowing God was preparing him to lead such a revival in the nations.

Confession for Today

Proverb 23:7 “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, he says to you; but his heart is not with you”.

In these difficult times that the world finds itself in, it is very important to know that one of the places that require very serious attention is the mind. This is because the mind can make a person either a victim or a victor in hard times. So, our mind and what goes into it must be given serious attention so we can live above the climate of the world. The question is why is the mind very important to our victory or defeat in life. I will give you two reasons for our study today: I. The mind is the battlefield of the redeemed. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; casting down imaginations”. We must give attention to our mind because the battles of life begin from the mind.

You lose or win every battle of your life from your mind. 2. Battles may be fought with weapons, but they are won from the mind: David killed Goliath in his mind before he killed him physically with his weapon. This was confirmed when he told Goliath: “This day will the Lord deliver you into my hand; and I will strike you, and take your head from you…” (1 Samuel 17:46). David, first of all, killed Goliath in his mind. The physical weapons, a stone and a sling, in the hands of David that were used to kill Goliath physically only executed the death of Goliath that had already taken place in the mind of David.

Though battles may be fought with weapons, they are won with strategies which are products of the mind. One advice I can give you, a reader of this devotional book, is give serious attention to your mind. You must have a winning mentality to experience a winning reality in life. Note that you lose or win every battle of your life from your mind. Always give attention to your mind; watch what enters your mind. Always cultivate a winning mentality to experience winning in your life every day. Renovate your mind with the Word to experience daily victories.
