Ephesians 6:11 “Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil”
One equipment that a new swimmer or workers at sea do not go without is a life jacket. Also, it is one of the first things a person is shown when on board an aircraft. A life jacket is a personal floatation device in the form of a vest or suit that is worn to prevent the wearer from drowning in a body of water. A Life jacket is a must have for anyone that wants to travel by sea. All aircrafts also provide it for every passenger in case of an emergency. Without a life jacket, even the strongest swimmer on earth cannot stay afloat forever without tiring out and drowning.
Life is like a sea; sometimes it is calm and still; other times, it is rough and irregular. We often need a life preserver to help us stay afloat. A full packaged life jacket for a believer is the armour of God, which includes salvation, speaking the truth at all times, living a righteous life, living by and preaching the word of God, faith in God, and having a life of consistent prayer. In perilous times, the full armour of God keeps us from drowning in life’s troubles. Emphasis should be placed on “full armour of God”. Just as there cannot be a partial life jacket on the airplane but a full one, likewise the believer is expected to put on the full or whole armour of God.
As a child of God, you cannot wear a partial armour and expect to be fully protected from life’s storms. A life jacket will not do you any good if you are not wearing it. Wear it at all times so that you will be able to stand against the attacks and all the tricks of the devil, the arch enemy of Christians. Believers are traveling on a stormy sea and only those with life jackets are sure of safety and protection.
Confession for Today
I decree and declare to always stay fully clothed on the whole armour of God in the mighty name of Jesus.
