Every soldier of a nation is catered for by the nation he or she serves. In the same vein, we are cared for by God when we serve Him. We gain God’s attention when we love Him wholeheartedly and serve Him committedly. King Hezekiah was bold enough to approach God on account of his dedication to God when he fell sick and was told that he was going to die. 2 Kings 20:2-3 says: “Hezekiah turned his face to the wall that faced the Temple and began praying to the Lord. ‘Lord remember that I have sincerely served you with all my heart.
I have done what you say is good.’” Based on this prayer, God indeed healed him and added fifteen more years to his life. Serving God grants you an audience with God. According to Luke chapter 7, where a centurion’s servant was sick. He sent his elders to Jesus to come and heal him. When they came to Jesus, they pleaded earnestly with him, “This man deserves to have you do this, because he loves our nation and has built our synagogue” (Luke 7:4-5). Jesus went with them and healed the servant. His contribution to the kingdom of God by building synagogues spoke for him in Jesus’ presence.
The question is, what are you doing for God to cause as a remembrance? What role are you playing committedly in the house of God like Hezekiah that you can call on God to remember when in need? We enjoy divine exemption, healing and fruitfulness when we serve God. Exodus 23:25-26 says: “You shall serve the Lord your God; He shall bless your bread and water, and I will take sickness from your midst. None shall lose her young by miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.” Serve God joyfully and committedly and He will surely take care of all your needs.
