Romans 12:2 “And do not conform to this world. But be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

As a believer, you are an agent of transformation and that is why you must not conform to worldly standards. One way through which the enemy has been able to manipulate the lives of many believers is getting them to conform to his standards. When Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego refused to conform to the standards of King Nebuchadnezzar, God glorified Himself by preserving their lives in the burning furnace. As a believer and a user of this devotional guide, are you conforming to the evil norms at work or in your locality or you are an agent of transformation? The fact that all your colleagues are doing something illegal does not make it right for you to join in. It doesn’t matter the amount of name calling and attacks that may come your way; you should not simply do what they are all doing. You must always show your faith in the Lord by living according to God’s standard and not that of the world. Note that you are not called to fit in but to make a difference. You need to take a stand for God by not conforming to the things of the world, which are at variance with your Christian values. You should take solace in the fact that God is pleased with you by the fact that you are not conforming to the things of this world. When Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego refused to conform by not bowing to the golden image, God saved them from the burning furnace and that compelled King Nebuchadnezzar to declare that no one should say anything negative against the God of Israel. If only you will refuse to do as the Romans do when it is against the will of God, God will surely see you through and your behaviour will cause them to be transformed.

Confession for Today

I decree and declare that I am an agent of transformation in Christ Jesus and will not conform to any worldly standards in the mighty name of Jesus.
