Matthew 25:23, 26a “His Lord said to him well done good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of the Lord. But his Lord answered and said, you wicked and lazy servant”
Have you ever sat down to consider that one day you will be made to give an account of your life here on earth? When you read the parable of the talents as told by Jesus, when the Master who gave out the talents came, he examined every person individually. There is going to be a day when each and every one of us would be made to give an account of our work here on earth. The big question you need to ask yourself is would the Master say “well done good and faithful servant” or “you lazy and wicked servant”. Whatever talent you have was given to you by God and you will certainly give an account of it one day. It is sad to see Christians being begged to undertake a mission in the church due to their talents. Some even go to the extent of refusing to perform a function as a means of showing off. Do you know that the Giver of the talent is watching and you will be made to give an account of it one day? May God forbid that you will be referred to as lazy and wicked servant by God. The consequence of being branded “lazy and wicked servant” is being cast into “the outer darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth” whilst the good and faithful servant will “enter into the joy of the Lord”. The choice to either enter into the joy of the Lord or be cast out into outer darkness depends on how you use your God-given talents. You need to check yourself and use your God-given talent profitable so that the Master’s comment will be “well done good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of the Lord”.
Confession for Today
I decree and declare to live my life in a manner that my heavenly Father will say good and faithful servant to me on the Day of Judgment in the mighty name of Jesus.
