Deuteronomy 1:6 “Then the Lord our God spoke to us in Horeb, saying: You have dwelt long enough at this mountain”

Do you go out each day knowing that God has your day planned out and that favour is your portion? Or you are always worried and stuck at one place staring at a mountain of disappointments, failures or difficulty? That is what happened to the people of Israel when they were heading to the Promised Land. They left Egypt with big dreams and visions heading to the Promised Land. Along the line, disappointments and setbacks set in. They got discouraged, gave up their dreams and settled where they were until one day God said to them, “You have dwelt long enough at this mountain”. God was simply telling them that they should move past that in order to attain the blessings. I don’t know where you are finding yourself stuck in life right now. I don’t know where you are feeling discouraged right now. I don’t know what dream you think it’s impossible to achieve. But I am here to tell you not to give up but persevere. You need not settle here but move beyond this disappointment. Move beyond the stagnation, but persevere, for your Promised Land is yours for the taking if only you do not give up. I believe God was telling the Israelites that where you are now is not where you are supposed to be. Get the fire back and move on to where you should be. Today, the Holy Spirit is talking to a user of this devotional guide that don’t settle for what you have now. Do not give up your dream. It’s time to get up and move on. It is time to strive forward, for I have better plans ahead for you. You have stayed far too long at your present position and it is time to move further. You need not give up; get up and move on as the Israelites did and you will surely achieve your dream with God as your guide and helper.

Confession for Today

I decree and declare to move past my mountain and not remain stagnant in order to enter into my Promised Land in the mighty name of Jesus.
