Genesis 3: 11b-12 “Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat? Then the man said, the woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate”
One thing that has been the bane of many people, Christians and non-Christians alike, is the failure to accept responsibility when in the wrong. Most people are quick to apportion or shift blame when in the wrong rather than accept responsibility. One thing worth noting is that, until a person accepts responsibility for his or her actions, he cannot seek solution for the problem at stake. Instead of accepting their faults and looking for remedies, some Christians are rather good at pushing the blame on someone else. They are ready to blame everyone but themselves. That is what Adam did when he ate the forbidden fruit. Instead of admitting that he had indeed eaten the forbidden fruit, he was rather shifting the blame to Eve. The order not to eat the forbidden fruit was for both of them so Adam had no business shifting the blame unto Eve than accepting it. As a believer, you should be bold to admit your faults and seek forgiveness or remedies than try apportioning blame. When you shift the blame on someone else, then you are not seeking proper forgiveness or solution to the situation. You should be prepared to apologize and make amends when in the wrong rather than giving excuses and shifting blame. When you accept your faults, then you are in the right course to seeking proper solution or remedy. It is the acceptance of your faults that will lead to seeking proper forgiveness and then making amends. Don’t shift the blame; accept responsibility and seek proper remedies.
Confession for Today
I decree and declare to always accept my faults and not apportion blames unto anyone in the mighty name of Jesus
